I'm having difficulty successfully setting up the vBulletin 3 member system. I've specified vBulletin 3 and clicked Change System. I've then entered the database name and correct folder path.
Then I go to www.honda-acura.net/index.php and get this error:
Database error in Subdreamer:
cannot use database hondaacu_forum
Error: Access denied for user: 'hondaacu_front@localhost' to database 'hondaacu_forum'
Error number: 1044
Date: Thursday 26th of February 2004 08:01:37 PM
File: http://www.honda-acura.net/index.php
How to fix this? Do I have to input a user and password somewhere?
It looks like the user hondaacu_front@localhost has access to the Subdreamer database but not to the hondaacu_forum database.
I think the solution would be to add the user hondaacu_front@localhost to the forum database as well. This would be done through cpanel or phpmyadmin. You may need to contact your host if you are not familiar with adding users to databases.

Bingo.
Next question. I'm trying setup some other admins to have access to the CP, but I will type in their name and add them, but they still can't ever log in. We are currently using the vB3 database so I'm telling them to use their current username and password.
Currently only users from the Subdreamer system can have access to the admin panel. I'm going to release a small update soon that will allow users from vBulletin 2 and 3 to become admins as well.

vBulletin 2, 3, and phpBB2 users can now have access to Subdreamer's admin panel. This feature was released in 1.1.1, although there was a small bug that prevented it from working perfectly. So if you are having trouble then redownload 1.1.1 and reupload file: admin/index.php - That should fix any problems :)

I have the same error as above
Database error in Subdreamer:
cannot use database forums
Error: Access denied for user: 'host1@%' to database 'forums'
Error number: 1044
Date: Monday 02nd of August 2004 08:03:19 PM

I have databases setup as follows: (names and passwords fictional for security)
All on Localhost
Subdreamer database:
DB_name - subdreamer
user - subhost
pass - subhost1
vBulletin database:
DB_name - forums
user - forumshost
pass - forumhost1
Albinator database:
DB_name - albinator
user - albhost
pass - albhost1
The problem is I cannot add the same username and pass used in subdreamer database to the vbulletin database. They have to be different. How exactly do I go about integrating these via phpmyadmin? or will I need to contact my host to enable it?
I could always have Subdreamer and vBulletin on the same database, however I feel if 1 database had a problem I always have the other running so subdreamer or vbulletin will always be running (unless MySql go down).
Please help as this has led to a couple of hours of head scratching :p
Definitely contact your server admin and ask why you can't add your vBulletin database user to your Subdreamer database. If he says he can't do that, then you will need to merge the Subdreamer database into your Forum database (just make sure your Subdreamer database has a table prefix).

Email to my host has been sent, hopefully it will all be sorted, otherwise I have to have all three systems (CMS, Forum and Media Gallery) on a single database. Not a problem unless a error occurs on that 1 database, then all 3 go down rather than a single system :(
Thanks for your help anywayz :D
