View Full Version : What about translations?
Hi there!
I'm pretty new at CMS and i'm testing some php/mySql. I like SO much your SubDreamer and i'm considering to buy it...
What about translations? If you are interested in italian translations, drop me a line :D
bye!
Converting Subdreamer to another language is very easy, because there are very few words that need to be translated. Many users already download and use Subdreamer for non-English sites :)

hi,
my first post here on subdreamer.com!
i am very enthusiastic about subdreamer
(wonder what plugins you will provide in the future!)
can you give me a hint where to find the parts in the code
where translation is necessary ?
thanks a lot.
karlsson.
Hi Karlsson,
Welcome to the Subdreamer community :)
The next version of Subdreamer, being released in 8 days, will have a full language system. When the next version is released, you will be able to change every phrase from the Subdreamer Admin Panel.

great news! :)
will this include an option for users to switch language ?
Users will be able to change the phrases into different languages manually, but there won't be an option that will convert everything into a different language at once. That will only be available once we have some members that send us translation files ;)

We would all love to get a language system where we can change language. Sign me up for the Norwegian version ;) I really had to change a lot of messages and labels to get things how I liked. And what if I have to upgrade...
Should have waited for the upgrade in just a few days ;)

I have just downloaded and installed the Advanced skin and my website is empty !
I switched to the previous skin and the content is not being shown , although I can see the content in the admin section.
What is happening ?
Thanks
Andre
You will need to add the plugins back to your skin each time you select a new skin.

When you change to a new skin, the plugins are reset, this only means that you have to decide where you want to place each plugin in the new skin.
1. Go to the control panel and click on one of your categories (you might have one called "Home") under the "Categories" section in the left frame. You really should read about categories in the manual (http://www.subdreamer.com/sdmanual/categories.html).
2. Insert the different plugins where you want them to be and click on "Update Category" at the bottom of the page.
3. Repeat the same for all the other categories of your website.
