I am getting this message as I go to my Plugins page in admin:

vti_encoding:SR|utf8-nl vti_timelastmodified:TR|07 Jun 2004 08:14:17 -0000 vti_extenderversion:SR|5.0.2.2623 vti_cacheddtm:TX|07 Jun 2004 08:14:17 -0000 vti_filesize:IR|6988 vti_backlinkinfo:VX|

This has an INSTALL button after that. I don't want to take any chances. What is that?

(don't press install)

Did you add any non Subdreamer plugins into the plugins folder?
Only Subdreamer plugins should be in the plugins folder.

No, I did not add anything new at all. I only did code changes today from your replies. Uh-oh! What is going on...? (note: several of my config icons -the wrench- have gone missing [for Latest News, MI Login, MI User CP], and are no longer available as options from my plugins menu in admin! Hmmm...)

Also, no more posts are showing in my Chatterbox when posted... Oh lord, what have I done?

I'm looking into this, so far I can tell it's not Subdreamer specific. Enter 'vti_timelastmodified' in google and you'll see what I mean.

Quick question, are you using Frontpage?

Take a look at these two pages: http://www.biglist.com/lists/xsl-list/archives/200105/msg00304.html
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Applications/MS_Office/FrontPage/Q_20943254.html

I'm beginning to get worried that I will have to reinstall several of my plugins. My chatterbox doesn't even work anymore. Would it be okay to just install over it again?

Oh ****... I have been copy/pasting some of my previous site pages directly into creating a plugin. I will go through and clean out the codes and see if that helps! Damn! Thanksalot for the insight! Let's hope it works.

There is nothing wrong with the code changes you've made, even if there was you wouldn't be seeing those types of errors. I think it has to do with editing the plugin files with Frontpage. You may need to download Subdreamer again and reupload the plugins.

Edit: Just read your last post, tell me if it works!

well if your editing the files in fronpage and uploading straight o the site you will get this problem. FP will add its own FP ext headers

Well, I was actually using FP to edit directly from the live site. Uugh... now I wouldn't know where to begin looking for how to correct that. I will be so upset if I have to reinstall everything over and lose all of this work. Shoot. I wonder where these FP things are writing to so I can just remove them. You don't happen to know, do you?

Otherwise, I am sure that's what this is all about. Thanks for all of your work with me this week, Subduck, and thank you Devnull.

If worst comes to worst, you will need to reupload all the Subdreamer files.
(just reupload everything except the install folder, you don't need to reinstall)

The only thing you will lose will be the changes that you made to your plugins.
The design, layout, plugin positions will not be erased.

I found the exact message. It is in the _vti_cnf folder as part of the Events Manager plugin folder. Inside the _vti_cnf folder there are duplicates of everything outside of it, with varying notations. The install.php is the file with the "install message" that is reading on the plugins page in admin! So I found it!

Okay, so what I did was back up all of the _vt_cnf folders, but deleted them all from every subdreamer folder. Everything seems back to normal!

And MOST importantly, since I will be using your CMS, should I just shut off FP Extensions altogether?

THANKS!!!

The vti folders do not come with Subdreamer.
I've never even heard of those folders before today!
So I'm assuming Frontpage somehow created and added those folders.

If I were you I wouldn't even use Frontpage.
I use this program for all my php/html code editing: http://www.phpexperteditor.com/

I use text pad which I find great.

So, as far as actually turning OFF the FP Extensions at my web site host, do you all think that will be fine since I no longer will be using FP Extensions and a site managed by it? -troy

I've never even used Frontpage before, so I'm not familiar with FP Extensions.

Frontage does create the _vti folders.

I would suggest turning off hte frontpage extensions if you are not going to use them simply cause it's a security risk, with all the people that think hacking is cool these days I'd rather not take the chance, and it's yet another thing you'd have to worry or watch.

Hey Thanks SilvrHand... I think I will do just what you suggested. Thanks!

Yea, turn 'em off. If anything, their doing more harm than good if their turned on and your not using the FP extensions.
